After a long wait and start to the season, finally the Sun started to shine in June and we have found some hope in our gardens and vegetable patches.
Mose of the big jobs will be sorted in your garden and vegetable garden by now. Plants and vegetables in their final positions in beds, borders and containers, so now is the important job of making sure they all look their best and produce fantastic harvests and blooms.
To keep those gardening spaces flourishing here are out top 3 tips to get the most from your garden this season.
Liquid feed
During the summer its vital to keep your plants watered but it is also important that you provide the plants with the nutrients they need through a liquid feed. You can do this by using the RocketGro plant fuel which has all the essential ingredients to keep those plants thriving. Plant fuel is a chemical free liquid feed with high levels of N:P:K, bio ready nutrients and microbes that will enrich your soil. Make sure you add feeding into your watering schedule at least 1-2 times a week, this bottle is a concentrate liquid feed so a little goes a long way.
Mulching
Mulching borders and beds is a very important job to help keep plants looking their best throughout the year. Our peat Free Magic Mulch is amazing in so many ways, not only will mulching help feed the soil it will help suppress weeds and will help also retain moisture/water in the soil below. Naturally the mulch will act as a barrier against slugs and snails as they don’t like the feel of it under them and it also makes borders and beds look neat and finished. Our Magic Mulch really is Magic.
Deadhead and harvest/sow regularly.
To get the most from your flowers and vegetables its important to make sure you deadhead your flowers regularly for the plants to then put the energy into producing more flowers. When it comes to vegetable plants you need to make sure you regularly harvest plants like cucumbers, tomatoes, courgettes so the plant will then put energy into growing more fruits. You want to sow seeds like radish, lettuce, rocket, spring onions, beetroots and carrots every couple of weeks so you can pick successional harvests over the spring summer and autumn.

Rose compost
Are you wanting to grow beautiful roses in your garden borders or pots the this is the perfect product for you. Our Peat Free Rose Compost is a bio active rich compost that provides ideal support and nourishment for your plants when planting young or mature plants into their pots or borders.
How to use this product – When planting out, dig a hole at least twice the size of the root ball. Add a few inches of RocketGro compost and loose soil. Position the plant and fill with 50% soil and 50% Rose Compost and firm around the base. Water thoroughly.
When potting or repotting, water the plant and its root ball. Place a layer of fresh new compost in the base of the pot. Tap out the plant from the old pot or container, loosen the root ball and place in the centre of the pot. Fill the space around the root ball, ensuring the compost level covers all the roots. Firm lightly and water thoroughlyWe recommend using RocketGro Plant Fuel to feed your plants at least once a week, but ideally twice a week during the growing season for even better results.
Water regularly. Little and often is better than flooding and letting dry out which stresses your plants.
