Delivery and Returns
Delivery
We deliver throughout the UK by Parcel Force & DPD. We charge P&P on a per item basis. If you order more than £33 of product after any coupon discount has been applied, we will deliver to you for only a £3.99 delivery charge for mainland UK orders.
What is ‘mainland UK’? This is all of England, Wales and Scotland excluding all Islands and the Scottish Highlands. This is not our terminology but the terminology of the parcel delivery services.
If your order comes to less than £33 the delivery charges per item are: £5.99.
For orders to Northern Ireland, Channel Islands, Scottish islands, Scottish Highlands, Isle of Man, Isle of Wight, and Isles of Scilly we cannot provide the delivery with p&p of only £3.99 above £33 total order value, and there is a fixed £15 postage fee per order irrespective of size of order due to the extra postage fees we are charged by Parcel Force & DPD. For Pallet orders to the these locations and the Scottish Highlands we will charge an extra £20 pallet delivery fee, making it a total of £35 for delivery. Sending a pallet to the Scottish Highlands is double the cost for us compared to sending one to Edinburgh or Glasgow for example.
For all regular orders, we will do our best to get your order to you asap, and usually between 2 & 3 workings days. We use Parcel Force and DPD as our preferred delivery companies, and we work with them using their express 24 & 48 hour delivery service. When we are super busy the delivery time may become 4-5 working days.
When placing your order please provide a mobile number (this is very important). This number will receive text alerts from Parcel Force and DPD about your delivery, or you will be emailed delivery updates from either company. If you are not in, your parcel will be left at your front door or in a safe place if we have sent it by Parcel Force. If Parcel Force deem that to be unsafe they should leave a card, or message you, and you are then able to book it back in for delivery another day. If we have sent it by DPD, they will not leave the parcel but will come back for a second attempt. If on the second attempt you are not in, your parcel will be returned to us.
If you have ordered a large quantity of product, we may elect to send out your order on a pallet. This saves considerable packaging. If you order over 10-12 bagged items (depending on their weight) we are likely to opt for a pallet delivery.
PALLET DELIVERIES
For all pallet orders, these are delivered by a pallet courier service, not by RocketGro. This company is not part of Parcel Force or DPD. Your pallet should be delivered between 3 & 4 working days after we have processed your order. Occasionally this can be up to 5 working days due to unforeseen motorway closures because of accidents on the M5 near our farm which happens a few times a month.
On the day, or the day before delivery, the local (to you) pallet courier depot will contact you by email or by phone to make sure the delivery time slot works for you or to inform you that they are on their way. If they cannot reach you, or they choose not to call, a tracking email will be sent.
We cannot provide you with the phone number for the pallet courier company, because there are hundreds of sub depots around the country each with a different number.
Pallet deliveries can only be made if the road you live on is wide enough for a standard sized 7.5 tonne lorry to drive down as a minimum. The lorry comes with a tail lift. The driver will lower the pallet down to ground level and push it with a manual pallet pusher to the location you require. The ground surface needs to be relatively flat and hard for this to be possible. A gravel surface is a problem and cannot be delivered onto.
Part of our order system on our website when purchasing a pallet product will involve a pop up window. On that we ask you to pick one of 3 options to give us the info we need to make sure your delivery is successful and without issue. We cannot process your order unless you have picked one of those 3 options. Your answer will be automatically recorded on your order.
Failure to inform us about potential delivery issues for your pallet, may mean we need to redeliver to you if the1st delivery attempt fails. Any costs associated with the re-delivery or return of the pallet to us may be deducted from any subsequent refund we make to you. We reserve the right to deduct these charges and fees from the amount we refund to you if it is clear that the delivery restrictions encountered have not been made clear to us when placing your order.
If a customer refuses to accept the delivery of the pallet when the delivery arrives, and the pallet is returned to us, we will charge the customer a minimum of £60 including VAT for both the delivery to the customer, and the return. Therefore, we will deduct a minimum of £120 before issuing a refund. This covers us for the cost of the delivery, and the subsequent return cost, as charged to us by the pallet courier companies.
Returns
If any item or parcel is returned, we will refund the customer less the minimum postage and packing fee per order which is £3.99. We reserve the right to refund the customer less £10 per box sent to them (and returned to us) if a customer refuses delivery or is responsible for a failed parcel delivery due to incorrect address details, refusing to accept delivery, or failed delivery post a redelivery request to a new location or address has been submitted to the delivery company by the customer. GUARANTEES
If a product on our website has the 10 year guarantee badge attached to it, you have the comfort of knowing that it is indeed covered by a guarantee. This applies to all or most of the products listed in the Garden Tools and Pruners sections on our website. In the first year post purchase date on your receipt received from RocketGro you should contact us direct about your item and the guarantee. Post 12 months, you should contact Wilkinson Sword direct as follows: All Wilkinson Sword products carry a guarantee.
